ABOUT

A multifaceted geospatial mapping and analysis firm

Arcudigm is a geospatial mapping and analysis firm committed to providing high-resolution, precise spatial data that empowers informed and cost-effective decision-making. Serving industries such as cultural heritage, agriculture, forestry, construction, and engineering, we offer a full suite of mapping and analytical services. Our name, Arcudigm, blends the Latin words arcus (arch) and paradigm (syntactic rules), symbolizing our interdisciplinary approach to addressing real-world challenges through science and technology. Born from innovative techniques developed under a Maine Economic Improvement Fund grant, Arcudigm’s roots lie in creating virtual tours of culturally significant sites in Maine.

Anthony J. Viola is the Founder and CEO of Arcudigm and works as the Managing Director of Data Services for Competitive Energy Services in Portland, Maine – managing databases, teams, and projects. Previously at CES, he worked as a Senior Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Analyst – modelled the southern Maine electrical grid on an hourly basis to inform policy makers on the best course of action to achieve a net-carbon economy.

Prior to his time at CES, Mr. Viola worked as an Archaeological Supervisor and Geospatial Specialist for Independent Archaeological Consulting and later a GIS Specialist for GridSolar. He obtained a BA in Geography-Anthropology, Minor in Archaeology, and Certificate in Applied GIS from the Muskie School of Public Service (MSPS) at the University of Southern Maine as well as a Remote Pilot license from the Federal Aviation Administration.
